Countering the Mass Shooter Threat
In this course, students will get a comprehensive analysis on the data that has been gathered from 48 mass shootings that have occurred since Columbine (1999) to determine what can be learned from these tragedies. It will address a number of topics such as:
If magazine-capacity reductions, AR-15 (or any other class of firearm) bans, gun-free zones, universal background checks or no-fly lists will stop or reduce mass shootings.
We will also look at whether victim response at any mass shooting has made a difference.
How to tell if someone may be planning a mass shooting.
How to create an emergency operations plan, and what the special security considerations are for schools, churches or businesses.
How to use the Run, Hide, Fight methodology.
How to perform triage and treat the wounded.
This course will leave you with a proper understanding and perspective of the mass shootings of the past, in order to prepare for the possibility of encountering one in your future!
